Turning Point Program Mission Statement
Turning Point Program exists to provide safe havens for families fleeing from violent and/or dangerous crimes. These include kidnapping, human trafficking, stalking with a history of extreme violence and threats on life, assaults, exploitation of children, and other crimes in which the family must seek refuge before, during, and after court proceedings.
Most of our participants are ACP (Address Confidentiality Program) qualified through the Department of Justice.
24 Month Grant Housing
Currently victims of domestic violence and other crimes reach out to county hubs only to find that they offer little housing, and so lack of housing is the number one barrier to leaving an abuser or dangerous situation. Turning Point Program seeks to develop multi-family housing in order to allocate a maximally-feasible occupancy allocation for 24-month grant housing for families fleeing or recovering from domestic violence. This housing grant program fits the CONNECT guideline of addressing current-social-program-inadequacy that without attention causes catastrophic results.
BeLoved Homes
Often when families enter our program they must start over again with no furniture, no food in the cupboards, and no toys or clothing for the children. Many families arrive at their safe homes with only what they can fit in their cars or what they can carry.
This is one of the reasons why we partnered with CONNECT and their BeLoved Homes program.
The specific charitable purpose of CONNECT is to Increase Community Health: relationship with self and others, educating youth for today’s conditions, and bolstering inadequate community responses to social crises.
